Sustainability Commitments
We're committed to biodiversity at Slane.
1. Our process waste materials are reused: grain and yeast by-products from the distillation process are provided to local farmers, who then use this for animal feed.
2. We are focused on energy efficiency and innovation.
3. The distillery features both anaerobic digester and heat recovery system.
4. We capture water through a catchment system to collect and store rainwater off which will then be treated and used for process water or landscape irrigation. This will reduce the amount of water that is taken from the river.
Slane Distiller is certified by Origin Green, Ireland's sustainability program.
Slane Irish whiskey is a multi award-winning triple casked blend offering a smooth, yet complex and flavourful amplified taste experience.
The distinct and quite unique triple-casked process of maturation that we use gives Slane Irish Whiskey a more complex and robust flavour than traditional blended Irish whiskeys.
Each type of cask imparts a special flavour onto the whiskey and helps develop its complexity and robust profile.
Smooth yet complex and robust. Slane Irish Whiskey marries toasted grain and malt whiskeys with the distinctive flavours of each cask.
Virgin oak- flavours of toasted oak, vanilla and chocolate.
Seasoned oak- flavours of caramel, plum, butterscotch and banana.
Sherry casks- flavours of raisin, spice and tree nuts.
To fully savor its smooth yet robust flavour, Slane Irish Whiskey is best enjoyed on the rocks, in coffee cocktails (Slane Irish Coffee or Slane Cold Brew) or simply mixed with ginger ale.
Slane Cold Brew Recipe:
50ml Slane Irish Whiskey
15ml Maple Syrup or honey
Top up with Cold Brew coffee,
Stir and garnish with 3 coffee beans.
Slane Irish Whiskey is made on the grounds of the legendary Slane Castle in the rural countryside of the Boyne Valley in County Meath. A 1,500-acre estate run by the Family Conyngham for more than 300 years, Slane Castle has hosted everyone from King George IV to renowned bands recording albums to more than a million music fans during the Slane Concert series.
Slane Irish whiskey is aged in three varieties of casks: Virgin and Seasoned casks coming from the Brown-Forman cooperages in the United States, and Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain.
The quality of barrels and mastery of aging and blending results in an exceptionally complex, smooth Irish whiskey.
